About the manufacturer Géralda Gerálda has been producing candles since 1995. Our mission is to make candles you can trust. Biodegradability is an important goal to achieve. After extensive research and testing, we are now the first company in the world that can produce 100% natural tea lights. Lighting our homes, warming our hearts and souls, connecting people – with these magical purposes, candles have been a meaningful part of human culture for centuries and have become a symbol of remembrance, peace and serenity. It is our wish to preserve this culture for the future. How can we do that? By creating harmony between us and nature. Guided by this inspiration, we designed C-lights. This is our first step on the green journey. We invite you to join us on this journey and work with us to make candle production and consumption fully sustainable. In our production we use natural materials and energy from renewable sources, but the most important ingredients we add to every candle are love and respect for our beautiful planet Earth and its people. Use - Safety Instructions When burning candles, all safety precautions should always be observed. You will find these on our packaging, on the information cards provided and on our websites via https://c-lights.com/how-to-use-safety-in-use (English) and https://bconscious.nl/safetyinstructions (multiple languages, see language selection in our menu). CAUTION: C-lights cups are made of vegetable material and could ignite. Therefore, every effort was made during the development of C-light to prevent the cup from igniting. The cup is patented based on the ingenious “safety wheel” on the bottom of the cup. This ensures that the wick holder cannot float to the wall. This not only ensures safer combustion but also an optimal burning time of at least six hours. The Better Cotton Initiative certified wick is of very high quality and made in such a way that the density of the wick ensures a slightly smaller flame than you may be used to from standard tea lights. This prevents the flame from touching the side wall for a long time during normal and correct use (according to the safety instructions). The combination of the smaller flame and the safety wheel ensures the safest possible combustion. C-lights therefore comply with current European regulations. Despite the measures taken to make C-lights as safe as possible, you should always observe all safety instructions. The most important ones in a row: · Always place C-lights in a non-flammable holder · ((The ideal holder is wide so that the cup is not enclosed and at least 2cm higher than where the flame comes)) · Do not use candles in Christmas arrangements · Use C-lights only for the atmosphere and not in a heating unit (rechaud, tea light or aromatherapy burner) · Always leave a window ajar/or all vents open so that there is sufficient oxygen in the house, however · Do not place candles in a draught/in the draught (!) ·Place candles on a flat surface so that they are not crooked · Do not place candles near flammable materials/items · NEVER leave candles unattended · Be careful with children and pets nearby, always make sure an adult is alert · In addition to the above safety instructions, also observe the other instructions to be able to safely enjoy the atmosphere of natural candlelight. If you experience a cup catching fire despite the above measures, please report this to us immediately at complaints@bconscious.NL. Please send s.v.p. also clear photos of the situation (both close up and from a distance) including the mood light holder used and its positioning in the room. We will immediately report this to the manufacturer and initiate an investigation. We are currently working with the manufacturer to further innovate the cup so that it will automatically extinguish in the event of ignition. Your safety is of course the most important thing to us. After use The cup is made from plants and other natural ingredients. The biomass used for its production is biodegradable and only suitable for industrial composting. The Austrian TÜV has tested and accredited the compostability according to an industrial process called 7P2159. Our product requires a composting time of 10 weeks at 100 degrees Celsius and 1 Newton of pressure. To make the cup compostable, the metal wick holder must be removed. This small metal plate is necessary for a safe flame. You can dispose of this plate with the residual waste or with the plastic (depending on your municipality). After this process, the only residue will be pure water – with no toxic emissions. Unfortunately, at this time, these types of biodegradable biomaterials are not yet accepted by waste processing companies. There is no suitable system yet for collecting, sorting and composting which also takes the time required for complete composting. We are confident that this is a temporary issue and will be resolved in the near future. For now, you should throw the cup away with the residual waste or burn it in the fireplace after removing the metal wick holder.
