Calais cocoons are 3-ply twisted cotton threads (or strands) gassed and mercerized (the equivalent of No. 80 from DMC). Its presentation in small cocoons of 5 grams (approximately 110 meters) allows easy and pleasant use: the thread is pulled through the middle, which avoids knots. Each cocoon is labeled.
