The 2023 harvest will go down in history as the earliest recorded in the Rueda Designation of Origin, beginning on August 15 under optimal conditions. The Verdejo grape, the region's symbol and the latest to be harvested, began its harvest on August 22. In total, 130 were collected.454.699 kilos of grapes, of which 115.269.278 corresponded to the Verdejo variety, reaffirming its importance in this wine-growing region. Experts have rated the vintage as “Very Good,” thanks to excellent ripeness and a great balance between alcohol and acidity. The grapes come from vineyards at an altitude of 700 meters, on limestone and stony soils. The production process follows a careful process: maceration for 4 to 5 hours at temperatures between 9 and 10°C, followed by pressing in an inert atmosphere to preserve all the aromas. Fermentation is meticulously controlled at 13°C to achieve a fresh and aromatic profile. The result is a straw-yellow wine with greenish reflections, which demonstrates its youth and freshness. On the nose, it is intense and expressive, with floral notes, stone fruits such as apricot, citrus nuances and herbal hints. In the mouth it stands out for its volume, structure and perfectly balanced acidity. Ideal pairing: it perfectly accompanies white or blue fish dishes, rice dishes, paellas, sushi and Asian cuisine, soft pastas, chicken, fresh cheeses, and the unmistakable Iberian ham.
