The winter of 2018 was cold and demanding, with temperatures reaching -12°C, followed by a freezing spring. The abundant rains at the end of winter gave way to a warm June, creating optimal conditions for excellent fruit set and generous fruit set, which heralded a bountiful, high-quality harvest. This wine is made from centuries-old vines located in the geodesic enclave of "La Mira," at an altitude of 910 meters in Pesquera de Duero, on stony, low-yield soil. Vinification is carried out with fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks at 26°C, extending the maceration from 3 to 4 weeks with daily pumping over to extract its full potential. Aged for 14 months in new French oak barrels, this wine is produced exclusively in exceptional vintages. Its profile is intense and structured, with great concentration and complexity. At first glance it has a deep cherry red color. On the nose, it unfolds with complex and elegant aromas, where infusions of black berries, cocoa, and spices stand out. In the mouth it is powerful, harmonious and enveloping, with a long and persistent finish that reflects its unique character. It pairs perfectly with roasted meats, vegetables, fabada, chorizo, Iberian ham, and seafood with a pronounced flavor.
