The 2020 harvest has established itself as one of the longest and most abundant in the recent history of Ribera del Duero. Its marked heterogeneity has given rise to wines with very defined profiles, characterized by their freshness, lightness, and cleanliness after fermentation. This wine comes from vineyards located on the southern slope of our estate in Pesquera de Duero, at an altitude of over 900 meters, where the clay-loam soils and limited yields favor concentrated and expressive raw materials. The wine is produced through controlled fermentation and maceration at 26°C, with an extraction period of between three and four weeks and several daily pumpings that maximize complexity. The wine is then aged for 14 months in new French and American oak barrels, which provide depth and spicy nuances without overshadowing the fruit. It has a cherry red color with ruby reflections, bright and attractive. On the aromatic level, ripe fruit such as blackberries and raspberries dominate, accompanied by licorice, sweet spices, and cocoa, notes perfectly blended after its aging in wood. The palate reveals an enveloping texture and a well-crafted structure, with polished tannins that support a flavorful, long, and nuanced finish. It pairs especially well with roasted meats, game dishes, legumes, grilled vegetables, and juicy Iberian cuts.
