¡ We are extremely pleased to announce that our Tamaral Reserva 2018 wine has been awarded the GOLD medal at the @mundusvini Spring Tasting 2024! This recognition, awarded by more than 40 experts from around the world, confirms that our Reserva embodies the best of our terroir. The 2020 vintage in Ribera del Duero was characterized by being one of the longest and most abundant in terms of duration and volume of grapes harvested. It has also been one of the most heterogeneous, which has given rise to wines with great diversity and unique nuances. The wines from this vintage stand out for their freshness and lightness, with intense colors, a very clean fruity nose, and a balanced palate, with sweet tannins and moderate alcohol. This wine comes from the northeastern part of our plot in Pesquera de Duero, at an altitude of over 900 meters, where the stony, calcareous soil and low yields favor concentration and elegance. Fermentation and maceration take place in stainless steel tanks at 26°C, followed by a 24-month aging period in French oak barrels. It has an intense cherry red color with cardinal edges. On the nose, it is complex and profound, with notes of very ripe black fruit, prunes, and an elegant spicy background with hints of clove, cinnamon, and cocoa, perfectly integrated by the aging process. On the palate it is silky, intense and delicate, with a persistent and refined finish. Suggested pairing: smoked meats and fish, red meats, truffle dishes, and cured cheeses.
