Medusa Earrings

I feel for Medusa, she had a rough deal. Being the most beautiful out of 3 sisters, her fate was doomed when Poseidon, the sea god, embarked on an affair with her in Athena's Temple. Athena was enraged and in a fit of jealousy, turned poor old Medusa into a demonic serpent monster, with the now infamous head of snakes and rattlesnake tail to boot. Not only that, but anyone who looked at her turned instantly to stone. Perseus then came along as the mythological story goes and put her out of her misery by lopping off her head for his own romantic endeavours. If you've seen the original ( NOT the CGI remake) of Clash of the Titans then you will know Ray Harryhausen's animation of Medusa is the best there is! I still think Medusa was beautiful in her own ghastly wayand to celebrate her, these earrings are something even she would wear ( maybe). Embellished with a turquoise Medusa emblem and decorated with a smattering of tiny Pyrite beads, gold snakes and arrows dangle gloriously from a golden circle. Pyrite beading, brass, gold plate on 24k gold plated hooks. 3" length.
