Located in Italy in Lignano Sabbiadoro, a small peninsula overlooking the Adriatic Sea between Venice and Trieste, Bolina Sail is an artisan workshop that draws inspiration from the rich and suggestive surrounding lagoon. In this unique environment, the sea becomes our world and pushes us to do our part to reduce man's environmental impact on Earth.
The name "upwind" derives from a characteristic gait of sailing boats, which allows you to "go up" with the wind, bringing the bow as far as possible in its direction to obtain speed. For sailing enthusiasts, the upwind course represents the most exciting pace, in which the boat tilts and seems to take off suddenly.
Our choice to work with upcycling, i.e. taking waste materials and transforming them into something new, is our way of "going up the wind". For us, it's a dynamic and exciting challenge, even when the rest of the world seems to be going in a completely different direction. The change of direction is necessary and humanity is facing this challenge with increasing seriousness.
At Bolina Sail, we breathe new life into materials that would otherwise be destined for landfill or incineration. We use old sails to create unique and high quality bags, accessories and furniture. Each product is handcrafted with care and attention to detail, lending a unique character to each piece.
Upcycling not only reduces the consumption of natural resources and the emission of waste, but also creates unique creations that tell a story. Each bag or accessory carries traces of its past, such as the lines of a sail or the signs of time, which underline its originality and authenticity.
We also support the sustainable fashion supply chain through local and responsible production, entirely Made in Italy.
