Opa’s Liebling is my interpretation of a Franconian cellar beer, brewed with two types of malt. This Franconian classic impresses with a fine bouquet of delicious malt notes, which are already noticeable in the olfactory. When you open the bottle, you are greeted by a seductive aroma of creamy caramel, oven-fresh bread, roasted nuts, and sun-ripened grains. The taste confirms the exquisite first impression and caresses the palate with soft notes of crisp bread crust, spicy grain, fine yeast and delicately melting caramel. Harmonious roasted aromas and a hint of dark fruit complement the malty composition. The hops contribute a lemony freshness, floral notes and a hint of grass. The subtle bitterness skilfully rounds off the play of aromas and gives the extremely drinkable cellar beer a suitable contrast.
