These earrings are made of 22 carat gold plated brass with cateye stone. These are synthetic gemstones. These are artificially made and have approximately the same chemical and physical properties as the natural stones. One should not confuse these usually valuable synthetic gems with the so-called imitations, because this is counterfeiting with the help of another material, especially glass or synthetic resin. These therefore have completely different chemical and physical properties. However, they have special optical properties and are mainly used as substitutes for diamond. Most artificially counterfeit gemstones are cheaper than the natural gemstones. The synthetically composed gemstones are not counted among the imitations, but are considered a separate group next to the natural gemstones. They must always be referred to as synthetic in the trade. It is almost impossible for the layman to distinguish between synthetic and natural gemstones. Even the craftsman often has problems with it. Sometimes only special equipment can be used to determine whether a stone is real or synthetic. The earrings are approximately 3.3 cm long.
