FINIS TERRAE - First Edition

Finis Terrae is an Exploration, Trade and Piracy game in which each player is asked to navigate a game map which is composed each time in a different and unexpected way, to simulate the map of an unknown world. In this space of sea and abyss, the territories will gradually be delineated and therefore the objectives and game strategies to be undertaken: saving castaways, recovering buried treasures and underwater finds, founding new Mercantile Ports and trading Spices. The Explorers will be hindered by Pirates and Adverse Weather and will be able to engage in piracy themselves. The winner will be the one who can demonstrate that they are the most expert navigator, i.e. collect the greatest number of points in the 3 categories: Exploration, Commercial Exchanges and Colonization (*) Each game round takes place in 4 phases: Cartographic Phase: each player places some game tiles and a new part of the cartography is revealed Preparatory Phase: in which the weather and trade conditions of the round are defined. Navigation Phase: in which explorers sail the sea, founding ports, trading spices and recovering Treasures and Shipwrecked People. End of the day: in which the navigation of the following day is prepared. The first player in the hand is established at the end of each turn according to the "Sun Rise" rule (Who is furthest to the EAST), while the Pirates are led in turn by each player and become an element that continuously changes strategy and acts on all players. Not all are honest Merchants in Finis Terrae and every Explorer will be able to decide to dedicate themselves to Piracy and plunder other Explorers. Due to its very structure, Finis Terrae adapts to different gaming styles: from the most basic and direct (without thinking too much) to a more strategic and challenging one. A moderate component of luck allows you to lighten the average weight of the game.
