It is found in multiple locations around the world, but was first discovered in Canada, near the settlement of Nain in Newfoundland and Labrador. Legend says that the lights of the Aurora Borealis were trapped inside the rocks of Labrador until discovered by the native Inuit and Beothuk people. One warrior is said to have struck the rocks with his spear, releasing the northern lights in an explosion of colour.
