This Plesiosaur Tooth In Matrix has been displayed and elegantly mounted in a museum quality deep box frame, by our expert in house team. Plesiosaurs were not dinosaurs, although they coexisted throughout their long history. They were large aquatic reptiles reaching lengths of up to 15 metres. Plesiosaurs had long flexible necks, small heads and large, oval-shaped bodies, with four fins and a short broad tail for mobility. They mostly fed on fish, cephalopods and molluscs, but were also known to graze the seabed for clams and snails. It is believed that Plesiosaurs did not lay eggs like dinosaurs and modern reptiles, but instead gave birth to live young and exhibited some form  of parental care. The frame is made from satin-finished acrylic. Each specimen is mounted on a 300 GSM acid-free card stock which includes both the scientific and common name of the insect printed below. The frame can either be self-standing or mounted using the invisible wall hanging bracket.
