Grappa of Sicily I.G. from native "Nerello Mascalese" vines. Nerello Mascalese is a native Sicilian grape variety, grown mainly on the slopes of Etna. Traditionally used for the vinification of DOC red wines, it is also used in the production of Grappa di Sicilia I.G.,obtained from the distillation of its pomace. Part of the grappa is then refined in American oak barrels, previously used for the maturation of fortified wines, in order to enrich their organoleptic profile.
