Commissioned in 1995, its slender silhouette dominates the mouth of the Seine. It is one of the most ambitious works built in France in recent decades. The 214 m high pylons (the size of the Montparnasse Tower!) dominate the estuary. Their foundations sink more than 50 m below the bed of the Seine. They are separated by a central span of 856 m. The 184 stays draw an elegant and photogenic silhouette. To connect one bank to the other, you travel more than 2 km suspended above the water.
