In the Anglican Church, bishops are important spiritual leaders responsible for the governance and administration of their dioceses. 

They are members of the clergy and have reached the highest level of the spiritual hierarchy. 

Bishops are responsible for the training and supervision of priests and other clergy in their dioceses and direct the spiritual affairs of their congregations.  Bishops are appointed in a variety of ways in the Anglican Church. 

In some cases, the diocesan synod, made up of priests, lay people and other members of the diocese, elects a candidate for the bishopric. 

The candidate must then be approved by the church government, the House of Bishops, and the Queen. 

In other cases, the Queen, on the proposal of the Prime Minister, nominates a candidate for the episcopacy.  Overall, in the Anglican Church, bishops play an important role as spiritual leaders and administrators of their dioceses.
