King Charles III, formerly known as the Prince of Wales, has been King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and 14 other Commonwealth realms since September 8, 2022. 

Born in 1948, he was heir to the throne when Queen Elizabeth II ascended the throne in 1952. 

His coronation with his wife Camilla is scheduled for May 6, 2023.  For decades, King Charles has been interested in and involved in many public causes, such as the environment, agriculture, architecture, art and education.
