Maqui is a small fruit, similar in size to blueberries or cherries, grown primarily in Chile. In Mapuche culture, this fruit is considered the "secret to longevity" due to its powerful health-promoting properties. Deep purple in color and sweet in flavor, maqui is an exceptional natural antioxidant. It contains high levels of polyphenols, anthocyanins, and vitamin C, making it an ally in combating cellular aging and preventing degenerative diseases. Its ORAC value (a measure of antioxidant potential) is considerably higher than that of other fruits known for their antioxidant benefits, such as açaí, mangosteen, or pomegranate, which reinforces its protective role against oxidative damage.
