Whole peeled tigernut - ORGANIC & FAIR TRADE - 300g

For several years, Écoidées has been promoting a little-known plant whose properties are matched only by its taste: tiger nut, a variety of papyrus producing delicious tubers. Its many uses make it a particularly attractive organic food: vegetable milk, gluten-free flour, whole tiger nuts to chew, spread, flakes for muesli, this basic ingredient continues to excel with its particularly sweet almond-hazelnut taste, its richness in fiber and mineral salts. Tiger nut is the fruit of the herb "chufa" (cyperus esculentus), a variety of papyrus known since ancient Egypt and used mainly at the time to make oil. Nowadays, it is widely consumed in West Africa. In Europe, it was in Spain that this plant became most popular, established following the Arab invasions. In the Valencia region, tiger nuts are the basis of a traditional drink called Horchata de Chufa, which has a Controlled Designation of Origin. Its inimitable taste deserves to be known! However, its nutritional properties are not lacking: it is a source of high-quality vegetable protein, numerous minerals and trace elements (notably potassium, phosphorus, iron, calcium and magnesium), vitamin E and a higher level of oleic acid than olive oil. It is particularly distinguished by its insoluble fiber content. It contains all the substances the body needs. This is why the German biologist and chemist Dr. Walter Scharz called it "survival food." 30g of tiger nut daily would be enough to keep a man alive by covering basic nutritional needs!
