Poster Hokusai - Goten-Yama Hill

This print, made by Hokusai around 1830-1832, is one of his extremely detailed compositions. It shows a cheerful scene of cherry blossom watching on Goten-yama, the hill north of Shinagawa in Edo. Goten-yama, or Palace Mountain, was so named because this hill is said to have been the site of the Shogun's villa. Goten-yama-hill was known for its beautiful cherry blossoms during the famous Edo period. We also sell matching frames in different colors. Different format or paper?
