African Jumbo Pakurigo Wave B&W Natural Fiber Basket

It can be used as a purely decorative piece or given different uses such as elegantly placing blankets next to the sofa, storing firewood or magazines, using it as a flower pot or giant fruit bowl...  It is hand-made over several weeks of work in Bolgatanga, Ghana, by artisans using a very special technique created in 2013 by two master weavers working for The Baba Tree Basket Company Ltd.,Palash Singh and John Akurigo.       The Baba Tree is a social enterprise known worldwide for its exclusive designs and quality finishes. For 15 years, the company has been committed to an ethical business model with the aim of preserving the basketry culture and the prosperity of the Gurunsi community in Bolgatanga, providing sustainable employment, fair and meaningful work to more than 250 artisans, causing a real social impact in the local community.       The weekly workshops offered, the skills training and the weavers' own enthusiasm and innovation allow their mastery of this art to be recognised and admired around the world.       All products are handcrafted using 100% natural and eco-friendly materials. They may vary slightly in size, shape and color, but they are 100% original and unique!
