The character of the city is found in its lively medieval streets and in its more peaceful squares. Between its typically Finistère decor and its warm atmosphere, Quimper seems to be close to the ideal city. Begun in 1239 and unfinished, Saint-Corentin Cathedral is one of the three oldest Gothic cathedrals in Brittany and also one of the largest. Attached to their city, the Quimperois themselves financed the completion of the towers at the end of the 19th century. This jewel of Breton Gothic art, located in the heart of the city, watches over the people of Quimper and is visible from wherever you are!
