Indigo Dyed Fiber Sample | Botanical Dyed Textiles, Slow Stitch, Boro, Craft Textiles, Embroidery, Quilting, Journaling, Cards, Patchwork

Gift set of 5 naturally dyed upcycled fibers for fabric collage, slow sewing and textile arts. These upcycled fabrics were individually hand-dyed in my studio. I love dyeing sustainable and second-hand natural materials with vegetable dyes. This palette of blue, ivory, and pale gray offers a variety of patterns and textures in an assortment of silk, cotton, rayon, and organic bamboo velvet, all paired with a vintage wool yarn. These textiles are perfect for experimenting and letting your creativity run wild. They are perfect for embroidery, collage, visible repairs, quilting, slow stitching, fiber arts, thrift journaling, felting and home decor. SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING | Recycled fabric bundles are a great way to incorporate sustainability into your textile craft projects. These fabric bundles are also a great way to build your sustainable materials collection, as upcycled and plant-dyed fabrics have a lower carbon footprint than new materials. FABRIC | This gift box contains 4 pieces of fabric and 1 vintage wool yarn. This is the set you will receive, in a 5 x 7.25 inch clear, compostable biofilm cellophane bag. •Ivory and Blue Resist Dyed Crinkled Cotton Double Gauze Fabric (Indigo) | 6.5 x 4.5 in • Blue Speckled Rayon Fabric (Indigo) | 6 x 5 in • Pale Gray and Blue Organic Bamboo Velvet Fabric (Indigo) | 5 x 4.5 in • Blue Semi-Sheer Silk Fabric (Indigo) | 6 x 4.5 in • Blue and White Variegated Wool Yarn (Indigo) | 2 yd RECLAIMED MATERIALS | These hand-dyed fabrics come from reclaimed clothing and vintage materials that I have selected, washed, and then carefully taken apart to ensure I can use almost 100% of the garment. It takes time to deconstruct garments, but there are already so many beautiful fabrics that can be used as a sustainable option for projects. DETAILS | Pieces with unusual shapes have been calculated based on their size, and there may be small imperfections and mottled colors. I have done my best to accurately represent the true shades of these fabrics, but each computer monitor will display colors differently. CARE | These materials have been washed/degreased, mordanted (fixed so that the natural dyes adhere to the fibers), hand-dyed, rinsed, and ironed. Naturally dyed fabrics are best washed by hand with a pH-neutral detergent, line dried, ironed at a low temperature, and stored away from direct sunlight. DELIVERY | I will refund any difference in shipping costs over €1.00 and can combine shipping costs for multiple purchases. I ship all my items in recyclable and compostable packaging.
