Gift set of 5 naturally dyed upcycled fibers for fabric collage, slow sewing and textile arts. These upcycled fabrics were individually hand-dyed in my studio. I love dyeing sustainable, second-hand natural materials from plants. This color palette, consisting of green, pale mustard, khaki, yellow, and gold, offers a selection of patterns and textures in an assortment of silk, cotton, and rayon velvets, with a vintage cotton thread. These textiles are perfect for experimenting and letting your creativity run wild. They are perfect for embroidery, collage, visible repairs, quilting, slow stitching, fiber arts, thrift journaling, felting and home decor. SUSTAINABLE MANUFACTURING | Recycled fabric bundles are a great way to incorporate sustainability into your textile craft projects. These fabric bundles are also a great way to build your sustainable materials collection, as upcycled and plant-dyed fabrics have a lower carbon footprint than new materials. FABRIC | This gift box contains 4 pieces of fabric and 1 vintage cotton thread. This is the bundle you will receive, and it will arrive in a 5" x 7" clear biofilm compostable cellophane bag. •Pale Mustard Yellow Cotton Eyelet Fabric (Foraged Tansy) | 5" x 5" • Khaki & Dark Green Plaid Silk Fabric (Indigo Overdye) | 6.5" x 3" • Yellow Rayon Crushed Velvet Fabric (Weld/Foraged Tansy) | 5" x 4.5" • Dark Green & Mustard Yellow Patterned Rayon Fabric (Indigo Overdye) | 6.5" x 3" • Green Variegated Vintage Cotton Yarn (Weld/Indigo) | 2 yards RECLAIMED MATERIALS | These hand-dyed fabrics come from reclaimed clothing and vintage materials that I have selected, washed, and then carefully taken apart to ensure I can use almost 100% of the garment. It takes time to deconstruct garments, but there are already so many beautiful fabrics that can be used as a sustainable option for projects. DETAILS | Pieces with unusual shapes have been calculated based on their size, and there may be small imperfections and mottled colors. I have done my best to accurately represent the true shades of these fabrics, but each computer monitor will display their colors a little differently. CARE | These materials have been washed/scrubbed, mordanted (set so the natural dyes adhere to the fibers), hand-dyed, rinsed, and ironed. Naturally dyed fabrics are best washed by hand with a pH-neutral detergent, line dried, ironed at a low temperature, and stored away from direct sunlight.
