Kinkeliba is often consumed at breakfast instead of coffee or tea. Kinkeliba is used in traditional African medicine for its diuretic, purifying and digestive properties. It is used as an infusion against constipation, to stimulate biliary function and promote biliary excretion. It is also effective as an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial and in the protection of liver cells. It is sometimes recommended to accompany fasts or diets, weight loss regimes or in cases of constipation.
