Organic Mascobado Whole Cane Sugar

Mascobado is wholemeal and organic cane sugar from the Philippines: it is produced by evaporation according to an ancient artisanal method, the secret of its great quality.  Its aroma is characterized by a special hint of liquorice; it is not refined or bleached and therefore preserves all its nutritional qualities. It was 1991 when 25 women founded the Panay Fair Trade Center, better known as PFTC, in the Philippines.  The organization has grown steadily over the years, it is now the leading exporter of Mascobado sugar from the island of Panay, Small farmers have freed themselves from dependence on landowners and "Mascobado" organic whole cane sugar is the symbol of the independence achieved by Filipino farmers and women.
