In 1687, the prior of the parish of Fulcrand Cabanon travelled to Versailles to reveal the secret of his red wine to the Sun King, who greatly appreciated it. This is how Cabrières wine achieved glorious consecration, celebrated by the court poet, the monarch Saint-Amant: “Give me some of this red wine… In short, it is my fire, my blood, my sun…”.
