Where does this tradition come from: furoshiki is a traditional Japanese technique of wrapping, folding and knotting fabric used to wrap gifts and carry various everyday objects such as school books, clothes, lunch, etc. Flax grows in northern Belgium, France and the Netherlands. Once woven, linen is very resistant thanks to the length and structure of its fiber. Choosing linen rather than cotton is also a commitment to the environment.
