Salmon Oil

Rich in omega 3 (EPA & DHA) and 6 fatty acids. This supplementary animal feed supports general health, promotes the natural immune system and supports joint function. In addition, Salmon Oil has a beneficial effect on the heart, promotes appetite and provides more energy.

Salmon oil vs. linseed oil

Both salmon oil and linseed oil are rich in essential fatty acids. These are fatty acids that the body cannot produce itself, while the body needs them to function normally. The main difference between salmon oil and flaxseed oil is the types of omega-3 fatty acids. Flaxseed oil is particularly rich in one type of omega-3 fatty acid (ALA), while salmon oil is also rich in EPA and DHA in addition to ALA.

This ALA is most abundant in vegetable oil, while EPA and DHA are mainly found in animal oil. ALA fatty acids must first be converted by the animal into EPA and DHA before they can be used in the body. However, this process is quite inefficient, resulting in only a 5-10% conversion. The animal-derived EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids can be used directly by the animal, meaning that the omega-3 fatty acids supplied via salmon oil are utilised much more efficiently.

Feeding advice
< 450 kg:
High: 40 ml per animal per day.
Maintenance:20 ml per animal per day.

≥ 450 kg:
High: 60 ml per animal per day.
Maintenance: 30 ml per animal per day. l (EQUI0022G)
