Navy blue, natural and orange raffia rug - 200 cm

Round rug, 200 cm in diameter, made of raffia, hand-woven by Myriam from the Rouge Beauté association in Madagascar. A strong pattern, a bright cherry red tone at the edge and center of the rug, with a succession of braids mixing shades of green and natural, and gray and black tones to create contrast. Each rug is unique! Each craftswoman imagines her rug and the colors that will compose it. She does the raffia coloring herself. Once the raffia is dry, she creates a long braid, which she continues by adding strands of raffia and wrapping this braid around itself as she goes. That's why rugs are round. It takes about 3 weeks to make a 2-meter diameter carpet.
