This UV-C is equipped with a number of useful functions. The transparent screw cap allows the PL UV-C lamp to be safely inspected without damaging the eyes from harmful UV-C radiation. For your safety, the ballast is equipped with a special switch-off function. When replacing the UV-C lamp, the ballast will automatically switch off when you release the lamp.The lamp has been further developed to improve its effective light output and lifespan by approximately 30% compared to previous models. The device is used with filter systems that have a separate compartment so that the UV-C radiation does not come into contact with the filter material. To achieve the full benefits of this UV-C unit, the quartz glass should be cleaned at least three times per year.Note: This UV-C 36W unit is compatible with Giant Biofill XL and Clear Control 75 filter systems.
