The fouta collections are made in South India, in Tamil Nadu, by a semi-artisanal weaving unit with which Karawan develops its exclusive collections, in organic cotton. Mr Visu employs around thirty people with working conditions, salaries and regulations that comply with ILO standards. Traditional looms coexist with spinning. To support this family business, orders are 50% pre-financed by Karawan-authentic. COMPOSITION 100% ORGANIC COTTON The weaving is made from GOTS certified organic cotton and the dyes are certified free of heavy metals. India is today the leading producer of organic cotton in the world. A recent law requires that the processing of the raw material takes place in the country itself, thus promoting the creation of added value for the benefit of Indian artisans or manufacturers.
