KarTent is an Amsterdam-based startup, founded in 2015 by Jan and Wout to solve a waste problem at festivals, the camping aftermath. The solution, the KarTent, a 100% cardboard sleeping tent for festivals. The KarTent is made from recycled Kraft Fiber cardboard, so rain and gusts of wind are no problem.
Since the end of 2019, KarTent has started upcycling the KarTents. This means; cutting old KarTents into new cardboard products currently available in the KarTent upcycling webshop. Think about lamps, beds, children's toys, and office supplies. In this way, we made the KarTent completely circular.
KarTent is now active in more than 25 different countries on 4 continents, including the US, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, and sells more than 10,000 tents on an annual basis. Which we work really hard to upcycle them all!
