Multifunction round mats handmade from biodegradable 'Kans or Thatch grass' fibre. Kans grass mats are available in 15, 20, 25, 30 and 75 cm diameters. Versatile in use, these mats make a gorgeous wall collage as decor and serve well as dining placemats. Our Kans grass is locally sourced from the wilderness of the terai region in Nepal. It is a perennial grass that grows naturally along the riverbanks to a height up to three meters. The fibre extracted from Kans grass is strong and flexible. Villagers in remote Nepal harvest this grass to thatch roofs and fence vegetable gardens.
