Play guide for 18+ months • Introduce vocabulary such as ‘sitting’ ‘running’ ‘roaring’ etc according to the different actions and sounds the dinosaurs can demonstrate as you play together. • Talk about dinosaurs and explain that we don't see dinosaurs anymore but they once lived on earth before humans did! • Talk about what the dinosaurs might have been like - share simple knowledge such as the T-Rex was very fierce, the Pterodactyl could fly and the Brontosaurus liked to eat leaves and trees. • Ask your child if he or she has a favourite dinosaur and find out what he or she likes about that one. Encourage your child to talk about the dinosaur's different features and abilities. • Encourage lots of pretend play with the dinosaurs, letting your child take the lead, but assisting with ideas if necessary.
