Limited Edition – Only 200 pairs available Before Van Gogh painted his famous sunflowers, he made this beautiful watercolor in Drenthe. What at first appears to be a simple, wet landscape with only a small hut in the distance, turns out to be full of hidden beauty. Van Gogh used a special colour palette of rust colours and lilac tones to bring this Drenthe landscape to life. The lonely tree, the still water reflecting the sky, the outline of that little hut – it may seem simple, but there is so much power hidden in it. This work shows that Van Gogh's time in Drenthe was not at all dark and meaningless, as is often thought. On the contrary: here he discovered the colourful style that would later make him so famous. A perfect example of how beauty often lies in the most ordinary things.
