Antique vintage style bed warmer - rustic design object - handmade copper

The bed warmer or foot warmer was a tool used to warm the bed and blankets before going to bed. It consisted of a copper container, which was filled with embers taken from the hearth or fireplace. ­ It was used in country houses or by less wealthy families until the 1960s and 1970s. ­ This object has been completely restored, and brought back to its original splendor of the early years of the last century. ­ The handle is also made of hand-wrought iron and the lid is finely cut with a particular artistic Greek motif. ­ Perfect item to decorate our home, shop or office with a vintage or antique touch. It can also be used to hold vases or plants with a touch of creativity. ­ An antique object, made in Italy, and very special for lovers of times gone by.
