Limousin Gray Rooster Feathers Wing Shovels (Cape) Color - dark bluish

Mr. Jean-Franéois LAVAL is a passionate breeder of Limousin gray roosters. This very specific species of roosters is known and recognized worldwide for the qualities of its feathers (shine, stiffness, mimicry, ease of assembly) among fishing fly tanners and fishermen. His selection of roosters is at the same time rigorous, methodical but also subjective. Hens and roosters live in semi freedom in adapted aviaries in order to protect them as well as possible from predators. Fishing cocks need a terroir specific to the breed, they are happy in wooded areas. The eggs are placed in an incubator and the chicks raised by him grow up and it is only between 8 and 10 months that one can begin to foresee the future quality of the roosters. M. LAVAL takes the feathers when they are ripe, at the time of moulting, which may vary from one rooster to another. It is the animal's biological rhythm, but also the climatic conditions that condition the plume. This takes place twice a year, and depending on the season, the same rooster will provide a different colored plume. The priority remains, of course, the welfare of the roosters.
