Euphorbia Enopla: native to South Africa, it is a succulent plant from the Cacti family whose stems bear very decorative red thorns. Its growth is slow. You will have to be patient to see it reach its maximum meter. You should favor very bright rooms without direct sunlight. It will also thrive in your gardens, if temperatures permit. Opuntia Subulata Monstruosa: very beautiful species ideal for beginners because it requires very little care. Originally from Peru, it is a Cactus made up of small tubular leaves with orange tips when cultivation is optimal. All it needs is maximum brightness. Do not hesitate to plant it in a large pot to accelerate its growth. The Notocactus Leninghausii: this globular and solitary plant from Brazil does not go unnoticed. Moreover, it is very popular because of its long, bristly, flexible and harmless yellow spines which catch the light and form a sort of golden halo. The oldest subjects offer very bright flowers in flowers 5 to 6 cm in diameter, silky, lemon yellow which populate the tops of the stems. Pachycereus Pringley: sold in small sizes, it is nevertheless a giant among cacti, reaching 20m high and weighing 25 tonnes for the oldest specimens. It is also nicknamed the Elephant Cactus. Nocturnal flowers, they are pollinated by bats. Mammillaria bombycina: also called self-cushion cactus. This plant species is part of the Cactaceae family (subfamily Cactoids, tribe Cacti). It finds its origins in the states of Aguascalienta, Jalisco and Zacatecas in Mexico, where it grows between 1900 and 2500 meters above sea level. Mammillaria bombycina is a hermaphrodite plant with a spherical to ovoid shape. EXHIBITION & MAINTENANCE These varieties thrive in light or partial shade in well-drained, sandy, rich, non-limestone soil and, above all, very dry in winter. Ideal for your living rooms. They should be grown in pots outside the Mediterranean region. Their resistance ranges from 0 to 40°C. Spring/Summer: moderate watering once or twice a month. During these sunny months, they will appreciate a supply of natural fertilizer to encourage their flowering, from February to August. Autumn/Winter: significantly reduce watering, once a month and always in small quantities. In winter, keep them away from radiators.
