Box of 180 tablets of 250mg The composition of Spirulina makes it a superfood which promotes immunity, provides the energy and tone necessary to fight fatigue, regain or maintain one's shape or even meet the specific needs of athletes.     Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) is in reality neither an algae nor a plant but a cyanobacteria.                                        It is a photosynthetic microorganism, which therefore uses sunlight for its growth, and which develops in brackish waters, neither fresh nor salty, tropical waters.                                        It has been cultivated and consumed by humans for several centuries (the Aztecs already consumed it) for its nutritional richness.                                        The latter is composed of on average 60% proteins, vitamins A, E, D, B1, B2, B3, B6, B8, K, beta-carotene and trace elements (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, zinc, copper, manganese, chromium, sodium, potassium, selenium).     Spirulina contains phycocyanin (having an antioxidant effect) and chlorophyll, pigments which give it its blue-green color.                                        It also contains enzymes, the most important of which is superoxide dismutase (SOD) which contains iron.
