Our highly anticipated second edition of Eames Playing Cards pays homage to the iconic Hang-It-All wall rack with bold lines, interconnected colored circles, and a nostalgic color palette.Inspired by the works of Charles and Ray Eames - A tribute to one of America's most influential design teams.Charles and Ray Eames brought a sense of playfulness to mid-century design, imbuing everyday objects with unexpected joy. Our second edition of Eames Playing Cards continues this approach by celebrating their iconic Hang-It-All wall rack. The first thing you'll notice is the jubilant early 1950s color palette. The visual motif is an obvious homage to the stick and ball of the original design. However, when we adapted the Hang-It-All to a new shape, we made a surprising discovery. When traditional playing card symbols are replaced with numbers, the result is more logical and visually consistent. So, inspired by the rebellious spirit of Ray and Charles, we decided to ditch the aristocracy altogether and take a more minimalist approach. The cards are simply numbered from 1 to 13, a subtle but gently revolutionary gesture we've never attempted before.Today, we cannot help but wonder why this clarity eluded us for so long. Every time we shuffle the deck and juggle the colorful balls, we are reminded of the Eameses' enthusiasm for defying the gravity of expectations and embracing a spirit of exploration. The Eames playing cards are presented in a letterpress-printed box reminiscent of the house Charles and Ray designed and built in Los Angeles, California. Made in the USA.
