In 1626, on the orders of Louis XIII, the Royal Garden of Medicinal Plants was created which would become the National Museum of Natural History in 1793. For nearly 400 years, at the crossroads of Earth, Life and Human sciences, the Museum has devoted itself daily to nature and its relationships with the human species. This work pays homage to this institution, and especially to the treasures kept there: stones from the Mineralogy gallery, diplodocus and fossils from the Paleontology gallery, birds, butterflies and African caravan from the Great Gallery of Evolution and plates from the National Herbarium. All the drawings come from the Museum's vellum collection, each part is accompanied on a double page by documentary texts. Once again, all of Dominique Ehrhard’s talent is expressed in this book. HASboth poetic and educational, Muséum Pop up illustrates the richness of these collections, the importance of scientific research, and all the beauty of the world around us.
