The one who waits

THE ROCKER Alexandre runs a valet company. He has a daughter, Pamina, and a wife, Penelope. A normal life. One day, he gets arrested while driving. He drank too much and fled. He loses his license but continues to drive. Until he gets caught again. He was thrown into Fleury-Mérogis, without knowing precisely for how long. His life is put on hold. A CHANGING WORLD He must get used to the proximity of his fellow prisoner, to the smells, to the noises, to the deprivations. And understand the codes. Prison is an arena. And then there is boredom. The fear that those waiting for him outside will end up forgetting him. Because for Penelope, life goes on. She must now take care of daily life alone: watching over Pamina, adapting to a new position as a midwife. And, weaving the time that will bring Alexandre back to him. WRITING OR EXTENDED LIFE In order not to sink, he begins to write to them. For them, he makes puzzles to put together, drawings to color, banners to display, he writes words on paper and maintains the link every day. So that everything doesn't fall apart. So that the life he has built does not escape him. Writing and reading are at the heart of his daily life. A hyphen that will allow him to pick up the thread, once outside. And, he hopes, find his family intact.
