There are two types of sloths, two-toed and three-toed sloths. Sloths can only be identified by the number of claws on their front legs. Their fur is usually black, brown or gray. Their fur sometimes appears green from algae, which helps them camouflage themselves from predators. You may know the sloth as the slowest mammal in the world, but surprisingly, it can swim three times faster than it moves on land. This is because their long claws prevent them from crawling on the rainforest floor. It is therefore not surprising that they prefer to hang upside down on trees! Did you know ?
