The Great Wave off Kanagawa poster

This illustration represents a reinterpretation of the iconic work of Japanese artist Hokusai, The Great Wave off Kanagawa. This print is part of a series called "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji" and is considered one of the most famous in the history of Japanese art. The work was created in the 19th century, at a time when Japan was increasingly opening up to the Western world. The giant wave that occupies the center of the image has become a symbol of the brute force of nature, while the boats nearby appear to be in imminent danger. The work's unique perspective, which immerses the viewer in the action and gives the impression of being on the boat facing the wave, has been hailed as an example of traditional Japanese art. However, the precision of the details, especially the representation of the waves, has also aroused the admiration of Western artists who have discovered the work over time. With this re-adaptation, illustrator Lotza has brought her own interpretation to the work, while maintaining the aesthetics and iconic character of the original. This poster is therefore both a tribute to a historical work of art and an original creation in itself.
