Illustrator Lotza's poster features New York's iconic Brooklyn Bridge. This steel suspension bridge, which connects the boroughs of Brooklyn and Manhattan over the East River, is one of the most famous symbols of New York City. Built in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was at the time the longest and highest suspension bridge ever built. It was designed by German engineer John Augustus Roebling and completed by his son Washington Roebling after his father's death. The bridge is nearly 2 km long and its main tower is 276 feet high. The Brooklyn Bridge played an important role in the development of New York City and has been used for the transportation of goods and passengers for over a century. Today it is mainly used for transporting cars, bicycles and pedestrians. New York is a city known for its dynamism and cultural diversity. It is considered one of the most influential cities in the world in terms of commerce, culture, education and tourism. Famous attractions in the city include the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Central Park and of course, the Brooklyn Bridge. While we're in the US, let's visit Chicago and Seattle.
