Mara May is a Dutch label founded about 15 years ago. It has always been a mainly knitwear label but since a couple of years ago it becomes more and more a sustainable label specialized in non-wool cotton-based (mixed with other natural yarns like linen, viscose, Lyocell etc….) knitwear. Only sustainable BCI cotton (www.bettercotton.org) is used. Thanks to new technologies, these yarns have a similar look and feel as wool but are definitely cooler, easier to clean, more breathable, hypoallergenic and do not itch.
Mara May is distinguished by a style that is characterized by grace, simplicity and luxury. We present 2 collection per year with an average of 30 items (each in 3 colors) per collection. Mara may operates in the middle to high price segment with a mark-up of 2.8 and focuses on women of 30+ with a middle to high income that are willing to pay for quality.
Summer collections also contain linen, cotton and Tencel woven articles while the winter collections are more knitwear focused.
