Yellow or pink Gold Filled is the thickest form of gilding. It is a strong and airtight layer of 14k gold that covers a brass base. Gold Filled is of a much higher quality than other forms of gold plating. It generally contains between 50 and 100 times more gold than for “gold-plated” jewellery.
