Poster The Black Crane Colors

Discover an illustrated version of the famous Black Crane of Nantes. Metal construction weighing 110 tonnes, with a curious asymmetrical gantry, the black crane was put into service in 1943 and could lift up to 13 tonnes. [...] In August 1944, it was destroyed by the German occupiers before leaving Nantes. Returned to service in 1947, it suffered a storm the following year. It became operational again in 1950 and was used until 1967, when shipbuilding left Chantenay for Prairie-au-Duc (currently the island of Nantes). Recently restored in 2023 after 1 year of work, it finds its place alongside the large Little Atlantique Brewery.
