Decorative Bassaba Basket

This straw basket is made from elephant grass and it is woven by hand. Bassaba or babatree baskets, are made in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region of Ghana by women. I have been working with this cooperative for a few years now. USE: This imposing piece of woven decoration is self-sufficient. How to shape your basket Your basket is shipped pressed inwards, you can reshape it very easily by spraying water on the whole and thus helping it regain its original shape. Let your basket dry.
